Customer loyalty requires more than just quality product

At ACCOR, we are no strangers to positive feedback from our customers — plumbers, contractors and maintenance managers. Since our sales are mostly direct to commercial clients, however, we don’t typically hear back from the end users like homeowners. Which is why this recent testimonial from a homeowner particularly struck a chord:

Homeowner Testimonial - Expectations Exceeded

I have been shockingly surprised at the level of service that Donna and ACCOR® have provided. I confidently expected to be disappointed and instead had all of my expectations exceeded, from my first phone call, to the follow up call and email from Donna, to the replacement part arriving in a timely manner. After running into a complication due to the way the plumbing was run to the valve, ACCOR stepped up again and instead of leaving me on my own they quickly had an excellent local plumber contact me who came out at 8:00 the following morning to perform the replacement. The plumber informed me that in his entire career he has only seen a couple of ACCOR valves need replacement which tells me that every department of this company adheres to the same escalated standards.

Thank you,

M. Thomas

The individual needed a replacement valve but after we promptly sent the part, the homeowner ran into an issue related to how plumbing connected to the valve. We didn’t want to leave the homeowner hanging. So we tapped one of our local plumber clients, who contacted the person and fixed the problem the next day.

“I confidently expected to be disappointed and instead had all of my expectations exceeded,” the homeowner wrote to us later. “The plumber informed me that in his entire career, he has only seen a couple of ACCOR valves need replacement, which tells me that every department of this company adheres to the same escalated standards.”

While we pride ourselves in the superior quality of our products — and a negligibly low failure rate — the homeowner hit the nail on the head, so to speak. Indeed, every department at ACCOR adheres to the same standards. And that includes customer service. For us, the exceptional quality is just one part of our business philosophy. Customer service is as much a priority as our unflinching dedication to quality. To hear our customers validate those values is a great honor.

Plumbing Company Solves Expensive Warranty Issues After Switching to ACCOR

After years of leaks and other problems with other products, Whitton Plumbing experts turn from skeptics to ACCOR fans.

Whittonvan

As a premier plumbing company in the Greater Phoenix area of Arizona, Whitton Plumbing prides itself in keeping its customers satisfied. That means the services come with a warranty and a quality guarantee.

Up until several years ago, that guarantee was causing challenges.

“We were using different supply stops with extensions — metal-style angle stops,” explains owner Ron Whitton. “We were losing money because of drips and leaks, and we were having to go back and do warranty work.”

The callbacks and warranty issues were costing the company thousands of dollars each year. So Whitton Pluming was continuously on the lookout for high-quality products that would improve efficiency.

When Whitton and his staff first heard about ACCOR Technology’s push-fit products, they were skeptical. After using metal products for years, the plastic, less expensive valves appeared inferior.

“The ease of installation also sounded too good to be true,” Whitton says. They shopped around and tried different products. Finally, Whitton Plumbing decided to give ACCOR a try.

“There are new products coming out every year but we’re not usually the first ones to jump on board,” Whitton says. “But we were forced to say, ‘Even though this product may not be something we’re used to, we have to try something different.’”

Whitton — whose family business is more than 30 years old — is glad he made that decision. Seven years after switching to ACCOR, his plumbers have installed about 750,000 ACCOR stops and supply valves.

“We are more productive and we’ve improved our efficiencies,” says Whitton, whose company prices are based per job rather than hourly. And there’s one other big change — peace of mind.

“We can sleep good at night, knowing the customers’ homes aren’t going to get flooded or their cabinets or flooring get damaged from drops or leaks, and cost us money,” Whitton says.

As for Whitton Plumbing customers themselves, the company hardly hears back from them. And that’s how Ron Whitton likes it.

“No news is good news because the truth is, it’s something they don’t have to worry about,” he says.

AHEAD OF THE MARKET

ACCOR Technology founder Jerry O’Neill says Ron Whitton’s initial reaction is typical for plumbers who’ve been using conventional products for a long time.

“It’s about the trust factor of using a polymer product versus the old, heavy-brass valves that have been out there for many years,” he says. “There’s a reluctance but on the other hand, they try them because the old brass valves corrode and leak.”

ACCOR Technology, whose patented push-fit products have revolutionized the industry in 1988, has been turning skeptics into fans ever since. More than 35 million valves have been installed, including in nearly 3 million homes around the country.

“Once plumbers find out our products work great, they’re like Ron Whitton — they become a firm believer in them because they don’t have any callbacks or problems.”

As for Whitton, he’s such a firm believer that he shares his experience with many of his colleagues. With one exception.

“I don’t want to refer any of our competitors because they’ll see how good of a product it is, so we keep it a secret from them,” he says. “With the amount of ACCOR stops and supplies we’ve installed and the success we’ve had, it’s been a great product for us.”

Breaking New Ground Isn’t Easy — But We’ve Proven It Can Be Done Successfully

ACCOR Technology was featured in the January/February 2016 edition of Manufacturing Today magazine. We’re excited that the publication recognized us as a pioneer in the push-fit supply valve market.

jerry oneill

Company founder and President Jerry O’Neill explained ACCOR’s early beginnings — starting out from scratch and raising capital from early investors. Jerry was driven by his vision that supply valves could be installed without tools, and years of research of development eventually paid off with our PUSHON patented technology.

It wasn’t easy, considering ACCOR Technology was charting new territory. Especially since the plumbing industry wasn’t known to embrace change — or move fast, for that matter.

“I guess you could say we were disruptive in the market because we were introducing something that wasn’t the old soldering and gluing,” Jerry explained to the article’s author, Stephanie Crets. “It was completely different in that all you had to do was push the valve onto the pipe.

Of course, today push-fit supply valves have been widely embraced by the market. ACCOR’s FlowTite® products have been installed in a third of all new homes built in the United States.

Manufacturing Today ACCOR Technology article"The ACCOR valve is simply pushed onto the pipe stub-out and then hand-tightened to the fixture or appliance. The one-piece system, an industry first, eliminates joint leaks with its factory-attached connector. ACCOR’s patents assure a higher margin of safety than any competitor, especially on PEX pipe, due to its patented dual gripper ring design. ACCOR says its written 10-year residential warranty, including labor, is the strongest in the industry. This reduces liability for both builders and plumbers related to potential leak problems. “Quality control is paramount for our company,” O’Neill adds. “Our internal processes and customer service are aligned with our quality commitment."

And several other companies have since followed suit to develop other push-fit products. We believe, of course, that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery — and we’re proud to have been the first to break ground in what would prove to bring major change to the plumbing industry.

For Jerry, it wasn’t enough just to be a game-changer, either. From the beginning, ACCOR’s products have been lead-free. (And now, all the other manufacturers have to catch up, thanks to new regulations, but we’re proud to say we have a 20-some year advantage in developing what works best.)

Most importantly, our products are manufactured in the United States, which is becoming more and more rare these days as companies are shipping their manufacturing needs to countries like China.

"We compete directly with brass valves that are made in China with much lower labor costs,” O’Neill explains. “The only way to preserve our business in the U.S. is to invest in automation machines that would decrease our variable labor substantially. That not only gave us the capacity to make a lot more valves, but it also decreased our variable cost per part while preserving our high quality."“Most people think that automation means reduced employment; however, with ACCOR the increase in productivity simply means we are able to compete with foreign imports, which means we will grow our business and our workforce,” O’Neill says.

ACCOR’s PUSHON R-SERIES and PUSHON PEX valves work for any plumbing job, whether new or remodel, PEX, CPVC or copper pipes.

KIRKLAND, Wash. — Busy remodelers and contractors know how time-consuming the replacement of old stop valves can get. The labor costs alone — for cutting off the old valve and installing a new in-wall stub-out — can add up fast. And installing new, softer plastic PEX pipe brings its own challenges in securing a supply stop that adheres regardless of the varying OD of PEX pipe.

ACCOR® Technology has the solution that saves both time and money — and invites contractors and remodelers to try its products at no cost.

ACCOR’s PUSHON® R-SERIES® for replacing old compression valves on existing copper and CPVC pipes completely eliminates the problem of replacing stub-outs due to the bothersome leftover ferrule. The ACCOR valves install right over the old brass ferrule — the only stop valves on the market to do so. Installation requires only removing the compression valve and pushing the PUSHON product over the old ferrule for a secure fit (tested to over 1,000 psi) — no need to labor over a new stub-out.

Through Sept. 30 2015, the company is offering contractors and remodelers free samples of the PUSHON R-SERIES and the PUSHON PEX toilet supply stop valves with 12-inch attached supply line in brushed chrome. To request the samples, go to www.accortechnology.com/tryitfree.

Whatever the remodeling project, new PEX or old copper and CPVC pipes, ACCOR’s push-fit valves will do the job.

“After 27 years in business, we are so certain that remodelers will like our products, we want them to try both solutions for free,” says ACCOR Technology CEO Jerry O’Neill. “Our customers, some of the largest plumbers in the country, can’t say enough about the time and money they save because of the ease of installation and guaranteed leak-free reliability of our supply valves. Remodelers and builders will experience the same quality benefits.”

The PUSHON supply stop valve doesn’t require any tools or glue, regardless of the type of use — you simply push them onto the pipe. The connectors are pre-attached at the factory, so the valve is guaranteed to eliminate joint leaks.

Additionally, the PUSHON PEX for new PEX pipes is the only push-fit supply valve that offers added reliability with dual-gripper rings for a tight fit on all PEX pipe.

The ACCOR® products have been installed in more than 2.5 million homes. The company, which manufactures its push-fit valves in the USA, completely stands behind its product. Its 10-year warranty includes labor — and it’s one of the best warranties in the industry.

KIRKLAND, Wash. — ACCOR® Technology, Inc., the market leader in supply stop valves, has launched a new website to help plumbing industry professionals and homeowners take better advantage of the company’s patented PUSHON® Technology.

The website, www.accortechnology.com, provides a more visual way of understanding the benefits and applications of push-fit products. Geared both to professionals and do-it-yourselfers, the website includes specification sheets, how-to videos, product catalogs, detailed illustrations, facts about ACCOR’s exclusive 10-year warranty (including labor) and other information.

“The goal of the redesigned website is to introduce our customers to the unique and superior, innovative features of the PUSHON technology.” said CEO Jerry O’Neill.

ACCOR’s two brands — PUSHON® for MRO distributors and FlowTite® for the wholesale market — offer more than a hundred products, such as valves and flexible connectors, for sinks, toilets, dishwashers and ice-makers. The products are available both for new construction and remodel/replacement and are manufactured in the United States.

As the pioneer of push-fit supply stop valves, ACCOR® has revolutionized the plumbing industry. The PUSHON® technology introduced a simple, efficient solution that doesn’t require tools for installation. The new website provides customers with information that helps them find solutions for their specific needs.

“With the increased popularity of push-fit products, it’s important to know the difference between the common engage-and-release designs and the superior ACCOR patented designs,” O’Neill said. “The ACCOR® valves for new construction (FlowTite® 4ALL® and PUSHON® PEX brands) rely on two internal nonmovable, stainless-steel gripper rings for an increased margin of safety, especially on smaller diameter PEX pipe.”
